ACUPRESSURE AND ACUPUNCTURE

ACUPRESSURE AND ACUPUNCTURE
ACUPRESSURE AND ACUPUNCTURE

Acupressure is an alternative medicine and an ancient healing art based on the concept of life energy which flows through "meridians" in the body. In treatment, physical pressure is applied to trigger points with the aim of clearing blockages in these meridians. Pressure may be applied by hand, by elbow, or with various devices.

Some medical studies have suggested that acupressure may be effective at helping manage nausea and vomiting, or for helping lower back pain.

Acupressure was developed in Asia over 5,000 years ago.

Acupuncture is a collection of procedures involving penetration of the skin with needles in order to stimulate certain points on the body. In its classical form it is a characteristic component of traditional Chinese medicine, and one of the oldest healing practices in the world. According to traditional Chinese medicine, stimulating specific acupuncture points corrects imbalances in the flow of qi through channels known as meridians.
