Walkerbouts Country Inn was established almost three decades ago by the proprietor, Dave Walker. It is located on the same site as the original farmhouse on the farm “Tintern” on which the village of Rhodes was established in 1891. It is in an elevated position on the western side of Rhodes on a quiet cul de sac with a stunning view across the village.
Walkerbouts Inn offers guests a spacious haven with comfortable accommodation, fine country cuisine and hospitality in the best traditions of the "Platteland." The relaxed and hospitable atmosphere makes it a veritable home-from-home.

PLEASE NOTE: Fuel is not available in Rhodes. Please fill up your tank and/or containers before taking the gravel roads to the village. Barkly East, Khowa(Elliot) Nqanquaru (Maclear), Mt Fletcher have fuel stations.
Accommodation at Walkerbouts Inn
Room 1 has a double and a single bed, both of which have electric blankets during the winter that are aided by a wall panel heater to ward off the chill. It still has the original Oregon pine floor and an en suite bathroom with a shower and a fine view overlooking our front garden and duck pond with the Naudesnek Pass mountains in the background.
Room 2 has a double and a single bed, both of which have electric blankets during the winter that are aided by a wall panel heater to ward off the chill. Room 3 overlooks our front garden and has a queen-size bed and a single bed with electric blankets and a wall panel heater to ward off the winter chill. It still has the original Oregon pine floor that creaks in places and the en suite bathroom has a shower in the bath. Prior to the comprehensive renovation of the building in 1999, it was originally the kitchen and complete with a winter-warming kitchen stove.
Room 4 is one of four family rooms that has a queen-size bed and two single beds all equipped with electric blankets. It is very spacious and still has the original Oregon pine floor. A wall panel heater also helps ward off the winter chill and the en suite bathroom has a shower in the bath.
Rooms 5 has a double and two single beds, all of which are equipped with electric blankets in winter. There are also wall-mounted panel heaters to help ward off the winter chill. The en suite bathroom has a shower.
Room 6 – “The Cubby-Hole” is perfect for the single traveller. The room has a ¾ bed, electric blanket and panel heater help ward off the winter chill. The en suite toilet has a shower.
Room 7 – Another cubby hole, also en suite and ideal for single folk.
Room 8 – aka the Rondawel has a double and two single beds with en suite facilities. It is located in our garden and is ideal for those who enjoy silence other than the odd bird call outside! Ideal for honeymooners!
Dining & Leisure at Walkerbouts Inn
The sunny lounge is the perfect place in winter with the sun pouring streaming in. Our Function room has fine views across the village and is great for our enjoying our famous pizzas or light midday “meals-with-a-view”.
Enjoy a drink in our pub and delicious meals in our restaurant. The dining area adjoins the lounge and the cosy pub next door boasts a wood-fired pizza oven. Thin, home-made bases allow one to savour the ingredients that guests select from the pizza menu... The best pizzas in Rhodes!

Activities around Rhodes
Activities & attractions in the area include snow skiing in winter at the nearby Tiffindell Ski Resort, horse riding in the Wartrail area, mountain-biking, birding, walks on the village common, rock art by arrangement, 4x4 routes, guided Alpine flower tours in summer by arrangement.
Fly fishing on more than 200km of running water and two great still waters can be arranged at Walkerbouts, headquarters of the Wild Trout Association. Guided outings can also be arranged and at least one day’s guided fishing is recommended to allow enthusiasts to acquaint themselves with local conditions and tactics.
