North-East District

North-East District

The North-East District is mainly populated by the BaKalanga speaking people. It is one of the administrative districts of Botswana and has Francistown as its capital.

The sub-districts of the North-East District are Francistown and North-East.

North-East borders the Matabeleland South Province of Zimbabwe in the north and east. In the south and west, it borders the Central District of Botswana.

The Nata River flows through the North-East District and is an essential meeting place for wildlife such as birds.
