With its mild tropical climate the western region of Kenya has fertile farmland and lush forest with a hilly landscape. This whole area experiences heavy rainfall all through the year making the growing of fruit and vegetables very successful.
With western Kenya being more rural than the other provinces, tourism is not as high here, with accommodation and facilities more basic than in the other parts of the country.
