General Information

Aurora is a small, unspoilt village approximately 185km from Cape Town at the foot of the Piketberg Mountains in the West Coast Region of Western Cape, South Africa. Established in 1906, Aurora was named after the Roman goddess of dawn. Aurora is slowing developing as "the Place" to retire and escape the rat race of Cape Town, therefore the small town feel is slowly disappearing to be replaced by more commercial properties.
