Located on the West Coast region of the Western Cape, South Africa, about 280 kms north of Cape Town, is the picturesque town of Lamberts Bay. Rich in history and famous for its moderate climate and miles of pristine beaches and birdlife! This gem of a seaside village owes its origin to simple beginnings as a fishing village, like most of the surrounding South African coast villages, but is has become one of the major tourist attractions on the West Coast due to its moderate all year climate.
Lamberts Bay has a variety of accommodation options available from Guest Houses, Bed and Breakfasts to Self-catering units. The pure white beaches and blue sea offers ample opportunity for sea adventures and sport. Visitors can view gannets, cormorants and seals at Bird Island, which attracts Ornithologists from all over the world.
Other activities include two 9-hole golf courses, 4x4 and hiking trails and whale watching (in season). The Heaviside’s Dolphin is endemic to this part of the coast and can be spotted as close as 150 metres from the shore in small groups of up to 20 dolphins. Lambert’s Bay is regarded as one of the best places to spot this species all year round and anywhere along the bay.
