Rossenekal is in the region of the Cultural Heartlands in Mpumalanga, South Africa.
Geography and History
The village Roossenekal is named after Field-cornet Stephanus Johannes Roos and Comdt. Frederik Senekal, who both fell during the Mapoch War. Their graves have been preserved and can be viewed in the town.
Magnetic iron rocks are found in the Roossenekal area, which are an interesting geological phenomenon.
