Excelsior
Geography and history
Excelsior is a small town situated in the Motheo and Xhariep region of the Free State Province, South Africa. This town was formed by farmers in 1910 who grew tired of long journeys between Winburg and Ladybrand. Excelsior is a farming town and has since built a weather station to help the farmers with their crops.

Activities
Excelsior is known for its ghost stories - as most small towns are. Rumour has it that Piet Bok’s house is haunted by ghosts and demons because the owner shot himself inside the house.
