Van Stadensrus
Geography and history
Van Stadensrus is a relatively new town situated in the Motheo and Xhariep region of the Free State Province, South Africa. It was proclaimed a town in 1925 and founded on the farm named Mook. Van Stadensrus was named after its founder, MH van Staden, who built the nearby Egmont Dam. This town is located 30 km south of Wepener.
