Fauresmith
Geography and history
Fauresmith is a small horseshoe shaped town in the Motheo and Xhariep region of the Free State Province, South Africa. Its name is a combination of the surnames of Reverent Philip Faure and Sir Harry Smith. Faure was the moderator of the Dutch Reformed Church and Smith was the Governor of the Cape Colony. The principal crops grown in this region are potatoes and lucerne.
