Reddersburg
Geography and history
Reddersburg is a small town located in the Motheo and Xhariep region of the Free State Province in South Africa. This town, originally formed on a farm Vlakfontein, was well-known for its strict moral laws and its name means “Saviour’s Fort”. These moral laws were extremely strict, even to the point where profane language meant banishment from the town. The town was managed by the church until 1894 when it was handed over to the municipality.

Activities and attractions
Reddersburg is full of historical sites revolving around the Anglo-Boer War. The Mostertshoek Battlefield is a definite must-see for historical enthusiasts. The white flag of the British forces was hoisted at this very spot.
