Springfontein is a small farming town located in the Motheo and Xhariep region of Free State Province, South Africa. This town was founded in 1904 on a farm called Hartleydale. The residents of this town keep themselves busy with mixed farming and outdoor activities. Springfontein is a crucial rail junction between the Eastern Cape and Gauteng.
