Trompsburg
Geography and history
Trompsburg is a small town located in the Motheo and Xhariep region of the Free State Province in South Africa. The town was laid out in 1891 on a farm named Middelwater. The town was named after the owners of Middelwater, Jan and Bastiaan Tromp. Trompsburg is the main hub of merino sheep farming in the Free State Province.
