Geography and history

Viljoenskroon is a small town situated in the Northern Free State region of the Free State Province, South Africa. It was established on a farm named Mahemskuil in 1921 and named after its original owner, JJ Viljoen. The excellent stud farms in the area are also very well-known. This quiet town is situated in the middle of the maize industry. Viljoenskroon is a very hospitable town and has a total population of approximately 3 000. During the well-known annual NAMPO agricultural show, Viljoenskroon provides well-developed accommodation.
