Centane is a picturesque village, previously Kentani, situated in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
Centane was established in a military post during the ninth Frontier War. It is the site of one of the biggest losses for the Xhosa - more than 5000 warriors lost their lives attacking the British-held stronghold.
Qholorha Mouth, a coastal village southeast of Centane, offers surf and rock angling and pristine beaches.
