Christiana is a town situated in the Bophirima region of the North West Province in South Africa. It was established in 1870 after the discovery of diamonds in the area. The Transvaal Government set up this town to ensure ownership of the diamond digging sites. The town is named after the only daughter of President Andries Pretorius, Christiana Meyer.
Christiana is not only a very popular tourist destination, but also one of the principal town’s in the area. The tranquil setting, blue horizon and lush surroundings make this town the perfect getaway destination for tourists visiting the North West Province. It is part of new newly named DR KENNETH KAUNDA DISTRICT.
